Covid 19 Health Measures (2022)
Covid 19 Health Measures
The following requirements are based on Public Health Guidance as of April 9, 2023
The Covid-19 pandemic and associated restrictions have affected many lives, young and old. We aim to bring back the social interaction and activity of pre-covid days as much as we can while being compliant with all Public Health guidance. By applying to attend Mount Forest Camp, you agree to abide by the following current Covid-related rules.
BEFORE CAMP
- As part of the registration application, you will indicate the vaccination status for the camper. This is NOT for admission to camp and will remain confidential, only disclosed in the event of the camper’s infection at camp when those needing to know will ensure we abide by Public Health protocols with respect to isolation.
- A person whose status is indicated as ‘prefer not to answer’ will be treated as unvaccinated and the appropriate Public Health protocols followed in the event of infection or close contact.
THE DAY OF CAMP
- Every person staying at camp will be required to confirm that on the day of camp, they have taken a rapid test before journeying to camp and have received a negative result. They will also confirm they are not currently subject to any isolation or quarantine periods having been in contact with a known positive case.
- Arrival times will be scheduled to manage the registration process and control the amount of close contact between visitors. You will receive a time-slot for camper drop-off and pick-up nearer camp time. Washrooms will be available for those bringing campers. We are not able to invite visitors to stay for supper as we have done in the past; instead, visitors bringing campers will need to depart as soon as possible
AT CAMP
- Our camp programs utilize outdoor fresh-air activity as much as possible and we are deliberately adding to our cleaning schedules of high traffic areas and high touch surfaces to give added layers of protection to camp attendees.
- We support the choice of anyone who wishes to wear a mask indoors or outdoors.
- If someone at camp exhibits Covid-symptoms and/or has a positive result to a rapid test, a phone call will be made to the emergency contact and the infected person must be picked up from camp as soon as possible on the same day for their comfort and the protection of others.
- Full details on the handling of Covid cases & contacts that are in place at camp can be found in the 'Management of Cases and Contacts of COVID-19 in Ontario'
